After I submitted my coursework on Turnitin, my project was highlighted 9 percent similarity. Does that mean I will lose 9 marks or few marks for the paragraph that is not cited where there are similarities? I used Harvard style referencing but I didn't feel like I needed to cite as copying small sentences is not relevant enough to be cited.

You should probably review your understanding of plagiarism. If you don't change your view, you are likely to get kicked out of college.

Where the fcuk did you get the totally incorrect idea that "copying small sentences is not relevant enough to be cited"? You're an idiot.

You're likely to get a failing grade, not just lose 9 points. Teachers don't grade on the basis of numbers returned by turnitin, but if you are plagiarizing and not citing, then you can not only fail, but you can be expelled from school.

You need to get a clue, kid.

And, by the way, you need to cite the source of information even if you don't copy it word for word. Even paraphrased information has to be cited.

You should get an F and perhaps expelled. You stole the work of others and submitted it as your own.

Copying something word for word needs to be cited, even if it is 3 words.

Those 3 words are not yours, you have to give proper credit for them.
