Right, like the title states I've failed my driving test 3 times now. Before having my first test i had total of 22 lessons and then took my test. The result was 2 majors & 8 minors. The majors were "Due Hesitation" & "Observation".

After this i took 7 more lessons and then had my test again. The result was obviously a failure again due to "Observation" :( ! Also how can i make my "observation" better. I try to look in the mirrors all the time but sometimes just forget! But anyway this didn't really happen in the third test which I'm happy with.

My third test was today and i have failed that also and now I'm very depressed. Basically my point is.. when I'm having lessons with my instructor i drive absolutely fine and get NO mistakes at all. Before having my third test i had a mock test and in that i had only got 6 minors and no majors. What is wrong with me? Why do i keep messing up in my tests? I even pretend that the examiner is not next to me. I can definitely say that i can sometime lose concentration but if this is the actual case, how can i solve it? How can i concentrate more? Oh, almost forgot.. i failed the third one because of staying too close to a lorry on the dual carriageway.. i know its very stupid. I did think of overtaking at one point but thought staying behind it would be much safer which now i realise is stupid. By the way i had 1 major & 6 minors on my third one.

Anyway, could someone please give me some tips so i can pass on my 4th test. Much appreciated.

Many learners fail in their driving test because they get nervous and stressed out on their test day. Nearly everyone gets nervous about

taking their driving test , no matter how well prepared they are. It has been observed that people who are usually cool and calm, they also get

worried as the day of their driving test day gets nearer and their nervousness gets worse.

Practical driving test has been designed to see if you:

can drive safely in different road and traffic conditions

know The Highway Code and can demonstrate this through your driving

People get nervous about taking their test because :

Pressure from friends/family

Fear of failure

Self-doubts and lack of confidence in your driving

Lack of preparation

Previous test failure(s)

Following is a list of most common reasons for why learner drivers fail in exam -

1. Failure to perform appropriately at road junctions

2. Reversing around a corner wrongly

3.Failure to build appropriate utilization of steering

4.Problems with reverse parking

5.Failure to build appropriate utilization of gears

6.Failure to build useful utilization of mirrors

7.Driving too slowly

8.Failure to perform appropriately while turning right

9.Causing delay by not pulling out quickly at junctions

10Failure to move away perfectly from fixed spot

Things to remember while appearing for the test :

Practice and practice and practice

Before appearing for the test at least once have a mock driving test with your instructor.

Avoid listening to 'failure stories

Think positive

It's ok if you make mistake

Believe in yourself

Don't panic

Get a motorbike and ride that for a few years, if you stop concentrating on a motorbike you end up dead, so you will either become a very good driver or a statistic. To be honest the only good car drivers started on bikes.

Eat something healthy when you study. Get to sleep early from studying. And don't study at all the day of your test. Then when you take the test it will fly right into your head.

in my opinion, try another instructor. He put you back in for a re-test pretty quickly, I think that was a mistake really.

A new instructor may well spot what you are going wrong.
