Agree with you completely. It's like, 'well that's great if some people find them easy, but I think they are getting bl00dy harder!'

I actually agree with you entirely. Fair enough to the people who have sat exams before and recently that think they're getting easier, but that's still a personal opinion. Maybe exams aren't getting easier, maybe the teaching is just getting better?

YES! To every person who says that; they should take the tests themselves and see how well they do before they shoot their mouths of! It really irritates me after working so hard all year to get the results you want; people dismiss them as exams are getting "easier". Maybe we are just getting cleverer! Nowadays we have more technology and new methods to help us learn instead of the traditional "repeating". Surely with all these new takes on education it's making a difference to our intelligence?!

I agree, all of them are fricking twats tbh >_>

Every single year "exams are getting easier, even a monkey could get 700 A*s you should be ashamed you got a B blah blah blah".

I wish I could go up to each one individually and slap them in the face.

I like them to spend 2 years studying and see how hard the exams truly are, I bet 99% of these people wouldn't manage top marks..typical hypocrites :|

We work bloody hard for our grades and it would be nice if the media praised us for working hard once in a while, instead of saying "ohh exams are easier" blah blah blah, maybe we're getting smarter? Ever thought of that..of course not because the media don't care about the truth..

^_^

Good luck anyone expecting results XD

If anybody gets an A in APWH and a 1 at the same time, the APWH needs to be fire IMMEDIATELY. There is seriously something wrong with her teaching abilities and there is no excuse for this situation to ever happen.

Quite simply you cannot compare the exams of previous decades with those today because you would not be comparing like with like. Many people make the mistake of just comparing the examination papers but this is very misleading because there is a whole range of other factors at work, such as the setting of grade boundaries and the effect of coursework.

Having said that, two things about A Levels which have a very important impact on the year on year rise in top grades are:

(i) Before 2000, all A Level exams were taken at the end of the Upper Sixth year (Year 13). Nowadays A Levels are "modular" i.e. split into units. Each unit can be taken and re-taken an unlimited number of times and the student keeps their best result. This undoubtably makes it easier to get higher grades.

(ii) Before 2000, each unit of the A Level was A Level standard. Nowadays, only half the A Level is A Level standard and the other half is the "AS Level", which is a standard half-way between A Level and GCSE. To this extent at least, it it difficult to deny that the A Level has been "dumbed down".

I totally agree with you there, I got AAB in my A levels too and all people say is that the subject I took were easy and a waste of time.

And what really ticks me off is that they don't even know, they don't have a single clue, they just think they are right because they are old.

A levels are very hard, and I think middle aged people are just a little jealous because they probably didn't get grades like that.

The Subjects I took were, Art, Textiles and Graphic design, they were quite easy for me as I was a creative person and into Design.

They weren't really hard, it's that each subject has 3 units and there was a lot of work to do in a short amount of time. Especially when you have to do detailed drawings and paintings, a lot of writing and essays too.

The subjects were okay, it's just a lot of work, so you don't any free relaxing time at home. I spent every night doing my work, because I wanted to do well. There weer some people who dossed about in the class and they wern't the type of people who wanted to study at home, so they got U's.

Well done to you by the way.......

They are getting easier - the exact same questions which used to be asked on O level papers are now asked on A level papers.

That said, you can't do better than an A and a B's pretty good too - well done!
