There's two ways of it happening:
You can either send the scores for each CLEP (as you take them) to the college of your choice, or you can wait and then send them all at once with a CLEP Transcript.
It doesn't cost anything to send the scores to the college if you do it when you take the test. If you decide to go with the CLEP Transcript, then it runs you the $20 mentioned above.
The actual CLEP Transcript is a cumulative score report of all the CLEP exams you have taken and the scores you have earned in the last 20 years.
Okay, so now you have the score report. That doesn't do you much good though in it's current form. Those scores don't actually equal credits until your college gets a hold of them.
How many credits your college takes and what they're applied to is a whole other story. It's always a good idea to check with your advisor and get their approval (in writing) before you take the CLEP. That way you can go back and wave the Email back and forth if they change their mind. In the end it's up to them to decide what they'll accept, but it does help having proof.
If you want to request your transcript, all you need to do is:
Step 1 - download the Transcript Request Form (.pdf/450K) from the link http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/scores.html
Step 2 – fill the form appropriately and mail it along wit the payment to the address mentioned in the form.
For the DSST's, you need to:
Step 1 - Download the Military Transcript Order Form (.pdf/57K).
Step 2 - Mail the completed form along with a certified check or money order of $30 for each transcript requested, payable to Prometric to the address mentioned in the form. Credit card payment is also accepted.
Hope that helps. You can find more information at the link below.
