I am doing my AS exams at the moment, and all my subjects are with AQA. Just wondering if this exam boards, examiners and other exam boards and their examiners in general deduct marks from a candidate for using the 'Extra Space' in a exam? I have rather large handwriting, and often go into the 'Extra Space' bit, and I've heard examiners don't really like candidates to use it. My thought it, though, why do they put it in the exam then? Why don't exam boards and the examiners who write these exams just simply give the right amount of lines they think a candidate will need, and amount of writing a answer needs, and what they are prepared to mark!
So, can they take marks away from me? Or is just simply that they don't like it, and will have a little 'huff' to themselves, but then don't take marks away from me?
I cannot fathom to see that it would be fair to a candidate to deduct marks from them, for using the 'Extra Space'! But, just wanting to know if they will. If not, well that's obviously great!
