I am applying for a committee/group thing at my school but it requires a self-recommendation letter?? I don't know how to begin.. How can I write this without sounding overconfident/conceited? >__< Please help! I really want to get in.

Sounds like my NHS application. I just basically tried to write about what I had accomplished and to tell the truth and not exaggerate my accomplishment while at the same time not undermining them. Just list a few traits that you feel are really good about you, and instead of simply saying, "I'm smart, I work hard, I'm diligent, blah, blah, blah..." , give specific examples, but keep them short. I drew specific examples from my schoolwork and my volunteer work without going off on a tangent. If you give examples of your positive traits (without going overboard) instead of doing a laundry list of them, you will not sound conceited.
