Well, the books are pretty different. "The Real ACT Prep guide" is basically just three practice exams which are very, very similar to the actual test. It really helps you, because if you take them under the testing conditions, then you'll probably get a feel of what your score will be when you do take the exam. The Kaplan book gives more practice and strategies, whereas the other book doesn't really give too many strategies, because it's made by the testmakers, and obviously, they don't want to give too much away. The Princeton Review for the ACT is pretty good, I've heard, but I have the Kaplan book, and I didn't like it too much, because it really didn't really teach me that much. I heard the practice exams are harder on it though, but I haven't taken a practice exam yet. Good luck.
