I'm an Indian & I have received done my schooling in English language as the medium. I have been speaking english since 13 years now but the language is not my mother tongue and I do not speak english at home or with my friends. Now, the university I personally prefer to give SAT over TOEFL. This is what their guidelines are-
Option 1: The SAT or the ACT, as well as two SAT Subject Tests: one in math (level 1 or 2), and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m).
Option 2: The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) as well as two SAT Subject Tests: one in math (level 1 or 2) and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m). This option is especially recommended for students who do not speak English at home or in school, or who have been speaking English for fewer than five years.
Can i give the SAT instead of TOEFL? Plz help.....

As per my knowledge,

I think you must apply for both test. Cause TOEFL is main test to entrance into USA education but sometime you have to clear SAT as well cause SAT is mainly targeted on subject base.

Clear thing is that First you must apply for TOEFL. TOEFL is first condition to enter in foreign education program or course. When you passed it. Some universities in USA take one more test that is SAT for entrance into university program or course. You should apply for SAT in that case.

I suggest you first give TOEFL. If you want to get admission into reputed institute(S)/university(S) there, you must apply for SAT.

Please make sure everything.

IF you are applying to an US university you must take the TOEFL and the SAT exams. Most US university will want the SAT I : math, critical reading and writing. Most US schools require the TOEFL if English is not your first language, which it is not for you.

You can contact any US university via e-mail to ask any questions about applying.

Do both. Which ever one is better is the one you give.
