As of right now, i am planning on attending ohio university, not to be confused with ohio state university. however, i did not reach my full potential during my freshman year of high school and halfway through sophomore year. as of right now i am a senior with a 2.2 gpa. I would have probably around a 3.0 if i actually tried as a freshman. I am about to take my act in october, and so far i feel like im going to do very well. ive been taking practice acts and have stayed pretty consistent with a 27+ composite score. i am also wondering what i should do to increase my chances of getting in OU. The last thing i want to do is resort to a community college.

again, i dont know where these alleged numbers are coming from.

ohio university would certainly prefer a 3.0 or higher, but they do let in some students every year who are above 2.0 and below 3.0. you will, however, need to really lock down the act scores and practice test scores can be misleading (especially any from a book other than the real act book).

their median act range is 21-26 but with a low gpa you will want a higher act of 27 or more. you may also want to try the sat in case that suits you better. you dont have to send both types of scores in, just whichever you do better on.

It is mathematically impossible for you to raise your cumulative unweighted GPA high enough to be accepted to Ohio State in less than one year. Even if you were to receive all A's for both semesters of senior year, the highest GPA you would graduate with is a 2.65 unweighted. You would need a 3.0 unweighted GPA for a 75% chance of acceptance. Sorry, but it's not going to happen.
