hey

its ok to fail ALLLL of your classes and still get into a specialized high school

however, if you are failing all your classes i cannot say i recommend you to go to stuy because its much more difficult than middle school.

i was at a 100 average in middle school and now im barely maintaining a 90

Nothing absolutely nothing!!!! Only your SHSAT score!!! So don't worry your self! AND to serve as a reminder: Stuyvesant is not the 2nd best or best specialized high school just because its harder to get in! The score is due to the number of seats each school can offer ... the more seats the lower the score and vice versa! People at Brooklyn Technical High School are found to live much more successful lives then those at Stuyvesant! So think about the academics not the score!

The SHSAT is the only factor for getting in. Even if you fail or are barely passing classes, you can still get accepted to a specialized high school. Basically, they don't care about grades but only the score you received on the SHSAT. Good luck, the results are tomorrow.

The only way you wouldn't get into Stuyvesant is if you fail 8th grade and have to take summer school and fail that too. You will eliminate your seat by doing this. Make sure to keep your grades up.

the SHSAT is based only on your test score....

nothing more..nothing less...

but its not that great to fail classes...its bad on your record...but you will be accepted into Stuyvesant High School.

Hope to see you there =]

I got my results today 499 & Brooklyn Tech :) The test is different for every person. I suppose the math is a little harder than what you learn in school. The reading puts me to sleep. The test is divided into two parts: Verbal (consisting of scrambled paragraphs, logical reasoning, and passages) and Math. I heard from many people that the test books like Barrons are a lot harder than the tests itself. I've personally never tried Barrons. I did, however, go to tutoring for a couple days and if you study a lot and try your hardest, you'll do fine. I suggest you take classes during the summer. Most of my friends did too. Good luck!

Uh dude, im in 7nth grade studying for the test, i know that the people grading ur test don't look at ur report card, or any other grade. They only basically, look at ur test for the specialized only. If u did get accepted, Congratulations, cause they dont look at anything else.

They don't look at anything else other than the SHSAT test. That's why the paper received on 2-8-08 gave you an option of Stuyvesant already.

Your grades in school don't matter.
