Foundation's maximum grade is a C.

Intermediate Tier requires you to think that bit extra and giving you a higher chance of an A grade.

Higher Tier requires the most revision and gives the least help when giving clues to an answer, however the hard work has rewards by giving you the chance of an A*.

Hope this helps.

There is a maximum grade and a minimum grade that you can achieve at these levels.

Higher---> A*-D

Foundation----> C-G

There is no longer an intermediate level, but it did used to be grades

B-F. Teachers normally only enter you in for the higher tier if they believe you could achieve at least a grade C. This is because you will get ungraded (U) if you achieve lower than a D, whereas there is a safety net with foundation paper as you could get lower than a D, however this would still be a fail at GCSE level.

foundation- the highest you can get is a C

intermediate - the highest you can get is a B

higher - the highest you can get is a A*

they are tier that they have on exam papers which measure how difficult the paper is foundation being the easiest and higher being the most difficult. They don't use intermediate anymore. Your teachers will choose which tier you should take for each subject

generally dont have intermediate tier any more. foundation means that you can get C grade and no higher and Higher means that you can get any grade from U to A* although only C-A* are actually passes.

Foundation - C - F grade

Intermediate - B - F Grade

Higher - A* - F Grade

You need to be dedicated and quite clever to do higher tier papers.

The only thing an employer will like is frm a C grade upwards, as it shows you have studied and learnt it to a reasonable standard.
