i know it sounds stupid right now but read this: so im in yr 11 now in the uk, i do double science, last year( year 10 ) we did one gcse and we did coursework for it which is 25% worth of the gcse grade, i got A overall for the core science gcse but 1 mark away from A* for the gcse. last month she told me my coursework work was sent to the exam board because it was the highest in the class. last month when we came back from summer i holidays i asked her what did i get and she said 14 out 16 but she said it was worth 15 or full marks but the only reason she didnt was because she was worried the examiners would drop everyone elses grade in the class. and i was like WTH?!?, a teacher cant be allowed to do that? my sister who has done gcse and alevels said that teachers cant do that, if the coursework is worth that mark then you should give the student the right mark. im so angry, i put 12 hours in to that coursework and if she gave me the mark i could of got a* overall, i now have to resit one exam to get a* overall because i want to go into medicine and so its better if i get a* as im doing double not tripple. :/ . the other thing im angry about is, we have to produce the same coursework in yr 11 and she sent my one to the exam board, ive asked her for sooo long for my old coursework but she didnt ask the exam board to give it back, but today i got it back, i was so happy and i wanted to see why she gave me a lower mark, because when another teacher marked it she gave me 15/16 but my coursework was put down as 14/16 because of the first teacher :/ and then the first teacher came up to me and said, i dont think you done the coursework, because your so eager to get it back and you havent done much for the new coursework, i said no, i did the courswork last year and its all my own work and i just need to use my old coursework as guidelines for the new coursework, i got so angry, i mean how could i do the new coursework and start all over again, everyone elses whos work wasnt sent of to the exam board got there old coursework back and could use it, so why wasnt i allowed to?, its not my fault it was sent of to the exam board?, she now thinks the coursework i worked so hard on and spent a total of 12 hours of my free time on is not mine :(, i feel like crap. the teacher said well everyone elses one who was sent of to the exam board didnt get it back, and i said well they have a spare copy, i didnt have a spare one cause my usb broke so i had to get it back from the exam board. and when i asked the exam board one week ago they said they can send it only back to the school. :/:/ my mum has tried so long to contact her and today we got through and she was so rude to my mum and said i was lying and then she shut the phone and so my mum go upset and phoned the school to arrange arrange a meeting this friday with a senior teacher whose just below the headteacher as the head of the school is busy. just wanted to know can a teacher do that? can she say that to me? im soo upset, i wish i never moved to this school the teachers are sooo unsupportive, last year my geography teacher wouldnt let me sit a geography gcse exam, he said i would get a E, so my mum had to write a letter pleading him to let me sit it. i did the exam and got A* and when we came back he didnt even say sorry, or well done.

Maybe you should have backed up your work onto your computer at home. But yeah, you should write to the exam board and the school governer's union :)

Well actually i would not recommend you go visit the headmaster and stuff like what the others have recommended. Different teachers have different standards and if she wants to get away with it , all she has to do is say "i don't think it was worth 15 marks" and you got yourself in a big mess.

Nobody is going to gain from this so just keep it in your heart and curse whatever you want but at the end of the day, if you want to fight it out , the chances are you wouldn't last .

Maybe speak to the headmaster or the school governers or ask the exam board and exams officers for advice

you have been in touch in plagiarism of coursework. you ought to get a mark of 0. If I knew info i could checklist you to the examination board myself. Plagiarism is amazingly severe. you are able to desire to be failed for all your exams from that examination board.
