Is a valedictorian the person who gets only A's through all of high school (no B's or lower at all), or is it just the person who has the highest GPA?

In most schools, it is the person with the highest cumulative GPA for all 4 years of high school.

If your school doesn't have weighted GPAs, it may end up with more than one person with a 4.0 so they can look at community service, attendance, and misconduct record. All of these things could help them break a tie between the highest in the class.

Hope this helps!
