Do you mean Poly in Pasadena? If so, they like to see very high test scores (along with Prep and Harvard-Westlake) to make sure you can handle the work at their school, and yes, your scores should be fine. Poly has a really rigorous curriculum in high school, lots and lots of homework every night -- as I'm sure you learned at the Open House.
Cate states that general median SSAT total percentile of new students is 80th, and since the ISEE Is similar, you have that beat, 87 percentile overall.
Obviously, being in the top 1 and 2 percent is fantastic, meaning you scored as high or higher than 99 and 98 percent of the sample of those in your grade who took the test. Also, the ISEE is normed to independent school students, who score higher overall than national scores (public schools). Congratulations!
From what I've been told about my son's scores, getting in the high 90's in all 4 areas is extremely unusual, so don't worry about your two lower scores. You scored in the top 19th and 30th percentile, meaning about 81% and 70% of (private school) kids taking the test scored lower than you did.
If you want to know why you scored lower in some areas, that may be explained in the Achievement Analysis at the bottom of the report. A school counselor can explain it to you, but it basically shows how you did in subsections.
Did you have your Poly visit yet? If you haven't, it's painless, the interview is very conversational and more casual than you probably think. Try to participate during the two mini classes.
Poly only has 20 - 25 open spaces for 9th graders, not sure how many siblings will be taking up some of those spots this year. They'll get about 200 applications. They may not have any spots for 10th - 12th, unless someone leaves.
Good luck!
